I've been comtemplating gator material on my original Fatboy seat for three months now.
Now, I purchased a used H/D Diamondback seat w/ chrome fender bib from E-bay and currently having it worked by a local upholstery guy at this time.
I was dead set on using faux gator, until I seen the various shades of tan/brown Ostrich. Nice stuff. You may want to check out Ostrich.
I'll post pictures once I receive the seat/pillon tomorrow afternoon.
By the way, unless money isn't an issue, the majority of gator, ostrich, snake, etc, is simulated (faux); impressed onto a leather or vinyl base. Regardless, it looks realistic and hopefully withstands the abuse of wear and weather exposure.
