the ride is not as soft but not bad at all. it also seems a little more nimble or manuvarable. but it looks soooo much better

The stock spacers should work just fine, make sure you buy chrome ones tho it will look better if your not using the chrome salad bowl.

So a 2007 softail wheel should bolt right up to a 2011 deluxe?

Axle size might be different, also if you get a stock wheel HD wheel its gonna be about 1/4 off centered unless you have the hub moved over 1/4 inch and re true the wheel.

I believe the 07 is a 1" axle & the 11 is a 25mm.

Is just machining a special spacer to space it over not an option vs. dishing the wheel differently? Don't mean to be aloof...I just haven't torn into one to see what it involves.
