I mostly use a bell 1/2 helmet but also have 2 KBC full face, one of which is 15 yrs old that I I refuse to junk. 1/2 lid is great if you can stand the wind noise running without a windshield, FF for cold weather. My ol has a 1/2, a 3/4 and 2 FF helmets. All DOT
I would never buy a helmet without trying it on first.

They Look Good (kinda of military look),ut VERY HEAVY.. I did not feel how heavy they were until I compared them to the Canadian smallest DOT helmet or even the RockHard American Classic.. the drifters are maybe nice looking but terribly heavy.
Internally , the KBC Harley Helmets were a lot more comfortable as well.

After reading most of the replies, I remember meeting a guy who came up to us when we was just getting ready to leave for a trip. He told us to avoid wearing cheap helmets and try and get full faced ones.
It was clear that he suffered a really bad bike accident and I never forget his words, I remebered back in the day when I was into motor cross racing the full face helmet saved me a lot of times, so I agree the full face may not look the part but I think we tend to avoid them because of that.
So I am looking for a full face helmet that's just right, so thanks for bringing up the topic as I completly forgot about it.
