I read this thread, and went to get my new Metz WW 21 fitted, and the fitter asked me what pressure, so I said 40, and he said thats an awful lot, and it would feel too hard, now that some of you guys have had your DB tyres a while, are you still running at these high pressures, I only ever ride solo.

If you want a metzeler tire to last a de3cent amount of time this pressure is necessary. I have run numerous brands of 21" tires and if you run at 36 you will drastically reduce the life of the tire. That is my experience.

Yep still run 40 psi on my DB tire. Thats what Metzler recommends as well 38-42 psi depending on solo or 2 up.Solo is 38-40 psi as per Metzler. I would tend to listen to them over some cat in a tire shop or Indy.

Feels fine to me.I'm a 5' 10" 190 pounds solo rider.Bike is lowered 2" up front with progressive drop in kit and Ricor Intiminators. No problems thus far (about 600 miles on my DB tire with 40 psi).

I'd say it depends on how you ride. If it's straight cruising that you do, you'll maximize the longevity of the tires by running in the upper end of the range.
But if you rail it around the curves much a hard tire will start to slide earlier than a softer one.
My 2003 NT runs the 21" front and 16" 150 rear and I find that it handles the curves best at 32 in the front and 34 in the back. At more than 32 in the front it starts to wash out as you drive out of the corner. It's a slow wash but it's very strange feeling.

I may have to surrender my Duc riding style with this thing......
