Got ours almost 5yrs ago MAY of07, seems it had a tag price of $18,795.
ended up taking off dealer set up and a little discount, ended up being $18,200.

They also give me 20% off all parts for 60 days and lifetime 15% off all parts as long a I keep the local and Nat HOG memberships current.

Haggling price? Pick a number, any number, the Dealer doesnt care. You are gonna pay THEIR price if you want the bike.

At least that. Most dealers in the south will go below msrp to move a bike. Whatever you do DO NOT PAY MSRP.

I went to the local HD dealer today to price it out. She ended up with a final price of $19,600 (before taxes and title) for a Fatboy in Vivid Black, with chrome wheels and the ABS/Security option. About $400 of that was "freight" and another $400 for "dealer fee". With 6% FL tax, tag and title, the final price came to $21,276! hahahahahahahahaha!

One guy said he got his, including an extended warranty for $18,768 up in NJ. I'm in Florida. Do you think I'll find a dealer in Florida who would take $18,500 - $19,000 (including tax and title) out-the-door?

Guess I'll start calling around tomorrow and see if any dealers will go for it.

Thanks,
David

Call Tennessee and Alabama dealers. You can get it below msrp and then just do a fly and ride.

Call back and tell them you'll sign the papers today if they can go to 18,500

Also ask them what a dealer fee is? $400 to open a box and tighten the bars. They have to do that put on the floor so cut that and the freight charges out.

That should be around another $1,062.00 at 6%.

I paid $18,768.75 out the door for my 2012 Fat Boy Lo
I did get the denim black paint, and the ABS brakes & alarm package.
Also part of that deal was a 2 year extended manufactures warranty.
So now I have a 4 year warranty.
I don't know how much price difference there is between the Fatboy and the Fatboy Lo. But, so I can use your info as volatile negotiating ammo, can you confirm that the $18,768 OTD price included tax, title and all options? Guess you didnt go with chrome wheels. What's your tax rate? Were there any miles already on the bike?

Thanks,
David

Yeah, I was wondering if any nearby states had better prices on HDs. I flew up to Columbia SC to buy my 2010 Goldwing a couple years ago and had a nice 580 mile ride back home. Would definitely do that again. Saved almost $2k compared to any south Florida Honda dealers.

Thanks!

I paid full retail for my bike but got them to throw in ABS for free and $2500 in parts and labor.
