Default Oil all changed in the Heritage and ready to roll.

Just changed the oil in the Heritage with Mobile 1 20w-50 V Twin oil. I even did the oil scavenger method. Other than a couple of small pieces of metal on the drain plug everything seemed ok. I tightened the oil plug just snug and called that good enough. I'll watch for oil on the garage floor in the morning but I think things well be just fine. The oil only had about 1000km on it before storage but I thought it better to start the season with new oil.

This was also our first ride this spring with my fiance on her Dyna Low Rider and me on my Heritage. Only a short ride just to get out a get some road skills back. Fiance just got her motorcycle endorsement at the end of the season last year so she was very excited to get back out and get some ride time. We went to a parking lot and did some maneuvers. Practice is good first thing in the Spring.

I always put a piece of cardboard under my bike after changing the fluids to make sure there's not leaks. The seperator in a 30 pack of beer works great for that!

Don't forget that sometimes there will be a few drops of oil for a day or two from where the oil gets on the motor from the filter removal. Not a leak, just hard to get all of it off.

Depends on how much spilled out and how good U cleaned it off the motor after the change. Some use brake spray to remove most of it then wipe her down good.
