Any mechanics, pushrod and tube removal
Yep my ebgine is built but not by me. I need to replace at least one o-ring on one of the push rod tubes, (oozing then spraying oil at high speed). I've got the tube lifted and have adjustable rods but can't get the darn thing out. Do I take off the bottom plate where both rods enter the engine? Any mechanics around Beaver Dan/Hartford area of KY Between Owensborro and Bowling Green.? Not dealer type mechanics
Thanx,
Bob

you gotta make sure that the cylinder your working on is at TDC so there is no pressure on the push rod from the rockers and the hydraulic lifter has had time to bleed down or it's not gonna have enough wiggle room.
Pull the plugs, put a ziptie or something non metallic in the plug hole for piston height reference, put the bike in 4th gear and push it, or jack it up and rotate the wheel. when the zip tie is at its highest point you're at TDC. once you've found TDC on that cylinder your gonna have to wait a few min for the lifter to bleed down. then you should be able to collapse the push rod and take it out.
you're gonna need to find TDC compression for the install so you might as well take it apart that way.. when you're rolling the engine put your finger over that cylinder and feel for pressure. if there is then your on compression, if no pressure then you'll be on TDC overlap and need to go around one more time for TDC compression.
