so all carlini's come 1 1/2 inches taller than advertised?
The 1.25" Fly In apes are 1.5" higher than advertised (the web page refers to the discrepancy). The other apes are true to advertised heights (my experience). Ron
okie dokie. I want to do 17's in he evil ape, but even some of the 18's I've seen in this thread look way high. this is gonna take a big decision. I gotta find someone locally with carlini's. used to be a guy at work with some on a road king, but he's gone now

My brother in law runs 18" Gansta Apes on his Fatboy and from the bottom of the clamp area to the top bend measures 21.5". I was going to go with 16's but I am afraid of those now. His 18's are right in my line of sight so I don't like them. They look great though. I asked someone else on here with some 14's and he said his measured true. The only place I could come up with an 18" measurement on his bars was to measure from the top of the clamp area to the bottom side of the top bend.
Seeing all of you have the flying or gangster apes I have a question when it comes to cables. I am installing 14 inch Flying Apes on my 2016 Road King hopefully next weekend. Any suggestions on brake and clutch length and how long of a TBW extension I may need. Any advice is greatly appreciated

I went with 14" Carlini Flying Apes on my Fatboy Lo and went +8" on the front ABS brake line, +8" on the throttle cables and +10" on the shift cable. Gave it a very nice look! I didn't put in any crazy risers though. If you decide to go with a 2" riser or something, I would go +10" on all your lines and cables.
