Default DiabLo Build: 'Yay' or 'Nay' on Lower Fairing?

My head still hurts from last month's road trip. In turn, I am now thinking/planning my winter mods with this in consideration. I know for a fact I will need the windshield once in a blue moon, but the idea of fangs is just ewww. Therefore, I am considering some lower fairings w/ new guards before I send it in for a new paint job (2 many damn scratches on it now). At first look at the lower farings, it might look not that bad and add to the lower 'beefy' profile to my Lo.

Your thoughts?

Here is an example seen here before,

And a latest pic of my Lo...

Need more views, the side view shows the least. If you go that route get one of those big front wheels too, I hear they roll pretty good!

The lowers will do the trick, but not everyone needs them. I have fangs but don't use them. With the Klockwerks Billboard shield I get little if any buffetting. With or without fangs it is the same for me.

I worry about lowers mostly for the cooling aspect. Blocking airflow at the motor level cannot be good for an air cooled bike.

Good point. I wonder if lower fairings with vents solves that problem.

Concerning buffeting...oh I get that big time. I dont really want a batwing, and prefer sticking to the windshield if I can solve the head pounding with style.

The bike above looks good but everything is muted in the pic cause its all black. That little tinted shield defeats the purpose of what you are looking trying to achieve but does look good.

The bike you posted side view looks great. From the front with a tall, thinner looking tire maybe, maybe not. Maybe get some fangs used, trim em up a but to make them smaller/thinner and powder coat. They may not look as bad of they were not as wide and a little shorter and mounted close, touching the cow bells. I only use them in the winter.

This is what fixed buffeting for me.

Hell, the lowers would be nice just for a place to put a sound system.

The two pics you have are both RK's would these lowers fit on a Softail engine guard? Ive never seen it before.

How would the lower fairing effect the air flow cooling the engine?
