great pics everyone. Im really tempted to switch to apes, but the hollywood bars are one of the things on the slim that make it a throw-back.

Was it a diffiult decision for you guys? What did you end up doing with the stock hollywood bars?

Before I bought the bike I had the apes picked out. I was always into metric bikes(due to being a salesman for them) and i stopped into a HD dealer in sturgis. Sat on a fatboy lo with 16" carlini's on it and it was over for me. I had never even riden a bike with apes and knew right there that I wanted it. Traded the yamaha raider off on my slim a few months later. ordered the bars before the paperwork was done on the bike.

Great bike. couple questions. what exhaust is that? bassani? and ive been itching to do the tank lift but havent looked into it a lot. Did you buy a kit or make it yourself?

Thanks man! Those are Bassani Prostreet sweeps. I bought the DK customs kit, because I like the way they look, I had used one prior to this on my sporty. Super simple project, but the fuel crossover was a pain in the ass (and messy)

Did you ever get a chance to get that photo. I'm about to pull the trigger on the tank lift and coil relocation from DK.

Did you have to re-wire or could you use the stock wiring with the 10" apes? I'm looking to add them to mine and I'm trying to price out the entire process and with bars, wiring, and new grips. Thanks

difficult to tell if your apes are 10 or 12 inch.

I'm torn between beacher's or low apes. And if I like bents or angle cuts. Not being one to ever rush into things till my mind is fully made up, I'll just wait till then, but this thread helps, the more I visit

Hey Everyone, I'm new to the forum, but definitely not new to HD's! I saw this thread and had to add my two cents. My current ride is a 2013 Slim with lots of mods, including apes. I love the look and feel of these apes on this bike! Great for cruising around town, or a long ride. I went with Roland Sands 16" King Ape Black Ops. I get compliments on these bars every time I have the bike out!

Now where might someone find those ornaments you have on the rear fender?

Yes. Will eventually replace them with same height black ones. Stock risers look lame. ;-)
