Obviously, the "lawyer proofed" Harley salesman hasn't talked to you... They aren't "crash bars"; they are "engine guards".
OBTW, I have the HD rounded bars and like 'em a lot... I mounted my highway pegs with the tips slightly back which allows me to place my foot squarely on the peg. With the highway pegs I've got at least 4 different foot positions available to move around with while underway.

I have the HD old style bars and V&H Long Shots. I love the look and especially the sound. The only problem that I have is finding highway pegs to fit as all the nice ones in the HD catalog say that they will not work with the nostalgia type bar. My gallery is listed under "Spokes" if you want to see what it looks like.
