Hope you folks like my 05 Springer. I knew that when I purchased the bike, I was going to have to modify the headlight. I think Harley did a great job with the Springer classic, but I really love the old style headlight, the bike was begging for a larger headlamp. This light came off the 05 Fatboy, and after a few mounting point modifications went right into place. Its stayed put for about 500 miles now, and so I am really happy with the new look.

Hey y'all -
This pic is about as stock as you get ..... My Black Cherry '05 Classic the day I picked her up from Orlando Harley. Over the past few months I've added saddle bags, black crash bars and some highway pegs with 360 degree extenders. I'll post new pics when I get 'em.

Can any of you offer some advise to me regarding upgrading my exhaust?? My bike looks so damn good but it sounds like a Goldwing. I know this isn't the "EXHAUST" area of the forum but I thought I'd give it a shot. I don't know ANYBODY with a Springer and thought this would be the perfect thread to ask this type of question.

Thanks -
LOWRY

Hey there Lowry, Welcome to the forum! Love the ride...maybe I'm a little biased though. Check out my gallery to see the Springer Classic with regular exhaust (not the cross-over duals). I put Vance & Hines short shots on mine and they make plenty of noise. I also had the SE slip-ons installed at first. Did this with the stage I upgrade. The SE's give you more growl then the stock but they are not too loud. They are actually pretty nice sounding. But like I said they are fairly tame compared to many aftermarket pipes. Good luck finding the pipes you want and enjoy the bike.

Thanks for the info COASTER -
I think you're right about the SE pipes being a little tame. I've had quite a few people steering me in the Vance & Hines direction. It's such a big decision. I'd really like to get this right the first time ... you know? I've never seen or heard V&H pipes on a Springer. I went to their website and they look really cool with the fish tails.

Hey Lowry, I have a FXSTS w/ V&H Straight shots, (pics on the first page of this thread)and they are loud, a little less so with the quite baffles in them.

Do not get the Samson True Duals!!!!![sm=badidea.gif]
Stick with the stock head pipes and some slip-ons.
I put the Samson Silver Bullet with fishtails on mine,
and it sonds great with a low rumble but not too loud.
Fishtails look classy on this bike[sm=drooldude.gif]

BarryGreen -
Thanks for the info ... I talked to a tech today and she mentioned Sampson pipes. I'm going to check them out online now and will stay away from the True Duals. I'm wanting a low and loud rumble and keep hearing about the Vance & Hines pipes. I've heard the V&H pipes but never the ones specifically for my bike. Nobody around here has an FLSTSCi.

I'm going to get the pipes put on and then get the Stage I kit. Once I decide to get the download, do I need another remap?

Thanks in advance to all -
Sean
