Hi -- hope you guys are having some fun out there and staying in one piece.
I'm in the market for a BB and I noticed that the '95-'96 parts, service and wiring diagram manuals are different than the '97 ones.
I'm aware of the speedo change in '96, but what changed in '97? In general, I prefer the colors of the '97, but I'm curious to see if there are any pros and cons from a service/maintenance and reliability standpoint between '95-'96 vs. '97 -- especially regarding electrical stuff.
Thanks

Loooonnnggg road trip just to see 3 BBs. Ended up getting the one that was most budget friendly. Everything works and it runs and rides smooth, but it'll need some changes, cleaning and a smidge of TLC. Mileage is a bit higher than what I would have liked at ~21k, but the bike seems solid and strong. Won't be picking it up for a few weeks due to work, but will be road tripping it back home for a "bonding" experience. And time to sell a bike as well.
That's not a scratch on the tank, but just a reflection.

Thx RR.
It's not perfect and I don't need it to be, but there's some "custom" paint going on in the top of the rear fender that'll need to go and I'll get some original pieces back on at some point. Both the mirrors and license plate have integrated signals and brake lights that I'm not a huge fan of either
But this FXSTSB was kind of 13 years in the making as my 96 was stolen back in 2005 and, besides my Sportster 1200, I haven't found a bike I liked as much as it in the meantime. Had to go w/ a Softail if I was going to go w/ another EVO and the FXSTSB (I have a hard time saying "Bad Boy") is the best looking of them all.
