Sad. Long time family owned business.
Was a great bike destination for those of us in the eastern half of the state.

 

I sure hope they had good insurance. A loss like that will take a long time to recover from...

 

Only 20 minutes from home, great barbecue. Going to miss that place.

 

They started a "go-fund me" page, and due to response have upped the goals twice, and exceeded them.
Still one would have imagined they would have had good insurance, as well as "interruption" insurance. If 2020 taught any one, anything.... it's we're all hanging on, by a thread.

We had planned on going there Sunday morning, when the news broke. Wound up heading to Angier, and Texas Pit BBQ.... pretty good, but HALF the ride we were expecting

 

I have to try this place. I pass it going back and forth to my son's house several times weekly, as well as on rides when we head south and west

 

Been a few times with the club, good brisket...

 

I have been there about a dozen times. Always great food and quite busy most days.

Surely going to miss it this summer.

FYI - They ONLY TAKE CASH OR LOCAL CHECK WITH ID - no credit / debit cards!!!!

there WAs an ATM in the building for years, and last time we went, I could swear one of the guys paid by card
Texas Pit, takes credit cards, as does Stephenson's, and RED neck BBQ labs (while you're in the area

 

There was a sign at the counter for years that said Cash or Check only. If they changed that policy, I was not aware of it since I always paid in cash.

Yes there was an ATM near the counter and T-Shirt display.

Red Neck BBQ lab is much closer for me and I enjoy going there too for a quick meal.

Been to Stephenson's on Hwy 50 a few times too!
