May 19th. Patriot Guard Mission.
There is a group that has formed called the Patriot Guard. You can sign up at that web site. I am a member.
The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. They have one thing in common besides motorcycles. They have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join them.
Their main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission they undertake has two basic objectives.
1. Show their sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
2. Shield the mourning family and friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors
They have a ride planned for May 19:

Dress appropriately, bring your rain gear but pray for a a nice day. Iron Horses if you can. Bring flag poles & flags if you've got them; flags on bikes would be great. If you're not on your bike, cars are welcome, bring all the extra flags you've got.

Then take exit 108-B which is Vargrave St. Take a right at the stop sign and then take the first left (about .1 mile) onto Diggs Blvd. Go straight for about .2 miles and you will see detour signs. Follow these and bear to the left ( still following the detour signs) and the parking lot on the left side at the top of the hill is the rally point. For those coming in on 40 Business take exit 6-A (52 South) and take exit 108-B Vargrave St. You will go straight across the intersection and that will put you on Diggs Blvd. You will also see the detour signs in .2 miles and then follow them (as above) to the rally point.
Departure: The departure time from the staging area to the Morning Star Baptist Church is 1105. All bikes will present a uniform appearance as we ride from the staging area to the Church in a staggered formation. Anyone not able to stage should meet at the church located at the attached link: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...salem,+nc&om=1
Interment: The burial will be at Salisbury National Cemetery following the service. Patriot Guard Riders attending the interment will ride approximately 39 miles from the church to the cemetery. Please ensure that your motorcycle mounted flags are highway tested and road-worthy. The following is the link for the map from the church to the cemetery: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...,1.127472&om=1
Please remember that our mission is to respect and honor this fallen soldier and his family. Stand tall and proud as we salute this hero and his family for their great sacrifice!!!
