Default Looking for good Texas Rally (first rally)

The group I ride with (3 couples) from the Fort Worth area are talking about and looking for a good first timer, Texas Rally. We are check around the April/May time frame. We have been talking about:

Hawgs in the Hills, in Llano, May 2,3,4

Or

Thunder in the Hill Country, Bandera, April 4-6

Any other ideas? Any input on either of these rallies?

What about lodging? We want to party, but we don't want to ride our bikes back to a hotel after drinking a lot. Is there any transportation optionsor do you have to stay at the rally grounds?

We are looking for a good ride and a good party.

Hawgs n Hills, thunder in the hill country and ROT are all good rallies. Lots of good riding too. I am planning on going to all 3 this year. Llano andBandera are in the bag since I already have the time off work to attend. I'm hopingto get off work Wed, Thur, and Fri to go to the ROT. Answering your question, you cant go wrong at either Bandera or Llano.

ROT is always HOT. It's Austin in June. If you're bringing your women, make sure they're prepared. Better try to get lodging now.

Later in the year, check out the Lone Star Rally in Galveston. It encompasses Halloween this year so the Strand ought to be a blast.

Hawgs N Hills in Llano should be a good first rally. I would suggest that you combine it (May 2-4) with the Hill County Run in Luckenbach (May 2-4) and the Texas State HOG Rally in New Braunfels (May 1-4). All within about 90 miles of each other and right smack in the middle of some great riding country.

Enjoy!
