Question on Joker Machine Air Cleaner
Question for everyone,
I just removed a Screamin Eagle air cleaner from my 2012 48 and want to install a Joker Machine air cleaner. I bought this bike used and it came with the SE air cleaner. My question is what is the black bracket across the top of the below picture that spans between the breather holes on the cyliners that I seem to not have? Do I need this? Can I get a new one? I am guess it was removed from the stock cleaner and toss? Or does the joker machine one come with it. Thanks for the help.

Here's a link to the Figure Machine version. Whether you choose it or not, scroll to the bottom to see the "what's included" photo. You'll see the backing plate. The Joker version comes the same way.

I have that exact one from Figure Machine and you're right, you don't use the plate with that one. Mine looks just like yours and I believe the instructions said to take the plate off and it's not used. I'm thinking the Joker Machine may have a slightly different set up?
As for 4" being sufficient, it sure is for slipons and tuned with a Superchips Vigilante at least. I think you might run into problems if you did a 1250 kit, open exhaust, cam work, etc, but from everything I researched the 4" provides plenty of air. YMMV.
