Default 883 Running Lights

The front turn signal lights on my 883 also function as running lights. The rear signal lights don't; they only work as turn signals. But I think I've seen photos and videos of 883s showing the rears working as running lights as well.

Is this the result of the owners' mods?Or is it about differences between specs for different countries? (I live in Canada.)

Thanks!

Or are my lights just not working properly?

Older models are only brake/turn lights. Newer models are brake/turn/run lights since they have done away with the center brake light.

You can get a module from aftermarket companies that will convert your lights to run/turn/brake lights as well. Just be aware it will increase your electrical draw leaving you less room for electrical accessories.

My 883 isn't an older model. It's a 2015.

The US irons have a short rear fender and only the side lights. The Canadian, and I think the other international versions, have a long fender and a center tail light.

Custom Dynamics sells the module that makes your turn signals act as run/brake.

Correct, my Iron has the long fender and central light.

Thanks for the Custom Dynamics tip.

Ah, must be the HDI rules. I bet you can get the same style module as the older domestic US models to turn your turn signals in to run and brakes.

My ex roommate had one of those and the visibility/brightness is a lot better than my single tail light. I just have no room left for the module!

I think the TS socket and bulbs are single filament 1156 and they need to be dual-filament 1157.

Thanks. But I don't think it would fit my Iron. Not according to the fitment chart on the link, anyway.
