Well the adjuster called and think I'm SOL. From what I understand the insurance will take the value of the bike and also take the value that a salvage yard will take in its current condition. The repair estimate has to be less than what the salvage will offer for the company to repair it. (Or it's the other way around. Wasn't really clear). If that's the case I think it'll be a loss because just for starters front and rear fender must be replaced along with the gas tank. Think that's like a grand right there for parts and labor. We'll see. And I'll definitely won't accept the first offer of them total lossing it. Thanks all! (Said it'll be about a week before I get any news)

Well insurance called (they were quick with this). They said that there is a chunk of frame missing so they will total the bike. But are willing to give me the value plus my accessories ($3000) that I got with them. Bringing their offer to little over $7000. I financed about $5500. So I guess I'll be making about $1500 that I can put toward my next bike? Still upset I can't ride THIS bike..

Thoughts on one of these?

2011 Sportster 1200 with 29000 miles. Almost the same mods that was on the old bike but high mileage.

2009 HD Iron 883 with 7300 miles. Mods are just pipes and air filter. Less miles but older bike.

Both about the same price (~$6000)

If you finance, get gap insurance. It's only a few bucks a month.

2011 - xl1200c Stage One with Arlen Ness intake (2nd new mesh filter as a swap-in). Freedom swept radial headers, mini-apes, skeleton grips, skeleton mirrors, skull horn, large capacity gas tank and several other upgrades.

2009 - The Iron just has lifted tank, relocated ignition and coil, screaming eagle pipes, and air filter.

Neither has been tuned to my knowledge.
