Bought pair of chrome side covers. Battery (left) cover part #66261-04 doesn't seem to fit. The back of the cover seems shallower than stock. There's a box looking thing behind the battery and when I try to put the chrome cover it is hitting the corner and doesn't fit. Anyone else had this problem for 2013 Sportster 72? I thought the covers were universal up to 2013 year...

 

You can check out my cover and compare when we meet up. Perhaps you got the wrong part (i.e.year or model), your battery is the wrong size, or you just have to many cables to your battery in order for it to close.
