Default Turn Signal Mount Question

So I'm going to be moving my turn signals to the forks. Ideally I'd like to move them to the lower triple tree, but I want them as close to center line as possible. I came across some really old threads with some missing info, I'm hoping to get some help.

Can I mount them on the same bolt that will act as the pinch screw? No additional hardware that sits next to/on top of the triple tree bracket, but rather just on that screw itself. Can I take the ball/stud out of the stock turn signal setup and put a bolt in there?

Check out this recent thread. There are various options but the how-to is using the relocation kits for the lower triple tree.

Your turn signal mounts look great. The previous owner of the Sportster I just got used the HD 68517-94A kit and they are total lollipops. I ordered an Arlen Ness kit from Revzilla today that looks about the same as what you used.

I like the Drag Specialties Mini Deuce turn signals, which look the same as the stock Sportster turn signals, only they shave a half inch off of the diameter. They come with dual filament bulbs, but only have two wires. So no running light, only turn signals.

Default Turn signals

Or you can try the custom Dynamics true wraps. On their web site. In 39mm or 41mm. Smoke or amber. Just a thought.

Pretty sure DK Customs sells something similar.

I may eventually go that route myself. Are they very bright in the sunlight?

Check out the DK Custom Stealth LED Turn Signals/Running Lights Combo. They are bright in the sunlight.

Default Are they bright?

Yes they are. Only differance is DK's are white in running light mode, while CD's are Amber in running mode. Both are quality items. Good luck with your decision.

Any idea why these would not fit an '08 Nightster? 2007 is the last year of any bike on that list.

Maybe not the greatest picture but I fabbed up a tab so I could mount these turn signals to the lower pinch bolt like you are asking. Has held up fine. Just tighten to spec. 2000 miles so far and not even loose.

I take it you put a lock washer on the 5/16-24 X 3/4" stainless bolt and then put it in the mount? Any reason you went with a lock washer instead of a lock nut?
