Question Saddlebag mount with Burly brand sissy bar?

So, I've finally got small bags mounted on both sides of my bike BUT now I'm thinking I'd be happier with real saddlebags. I could sell the small bags easily enough.

Here's the issue; I have this sissy bar that I'm really attached to. It mounts to the same points where most, if not all, saddlebag mounts go.

I'm thinking, after relocating turn signals of course, that I could still do the same thing by just sourcing bolts an extra half inch longer to go through the saddlebag mounts and through the sissy bar mounts. Am I missing something or would this be pretty straight-forward?

It depends on the saddlebag mounts, but most will fit with change to longer bolts. I have HD sissy with quick release mounts on the same bolts as the saddlebags...just used slightly longer bolts.

If you contact us with the lengths of the bolts in your backrest currently, we should be able to get a Easy Brackets set up for you.

The sissy bar mount sticks out 3/4" from the rail; seems easy enough....
