Hey AK,

When you stripped the tank, did you clear coat it?

yea my neighbors alarms go off sometimes but thats the fun part! at first i had it raw finished until it rained outside and even though my bikes safe from direct rain the moisture turned my tank orange. i re-sanded it and then sprayed it with a clear enamel laquer. it keeps it from rusting but if i accidentally get gas on it it melts right off. i usually have to re-sand and spray the stripped area. i plan on getting it professionally clear coated at an autobody shop after i get the real art and gas gauge welded onto it later on

like this

Old school fuel gauge like you would find in machinery "sight glass" gauge but with a rubber hose, not glass.......

Fuel will neutralize between the tank and the hose so the spot the fuel shows equals the fuel line level inside.

Yeah, thought thats what you were referring to, but just wanted to confirm. I've seen those on a few bikes when I was at Strokers.
BilletProofDesigns has a flush-mount kit that looks to be fairly nice.
Lowbrow Customs has a kit too. Are you planning to 'roll your own' ?

Sounds cool!

so lonestar rally 2016 was insane! had alot of fun cruising and chilling with friends and seeing all the custom bikes out there. the weather heading down from dallas was perfect 75-85 degrees all weekend. when we left heading back to dallas it rained pretty much the whole way and was cold. numb hands and a sore back... the ride was still worth it! there were bikes infront and inback of us on the highway as far as the eye could see.
