I wonder if she'd go for the tank bag idea. I'll have to run that one past her.

Use 4 wing nuts to hold backing plate and license plate.
Papers can be placed in plastic bag and sandwiched between license plate and backing plate.
Remove the nuts to access papers when needed.
google this to better understand.

This idea should work very well since both you and the Wife will be riding the bike. The Tank bag idea you are thinking about would worry me because of the possibility of someone walking off with the bag.

See post 5.

Been asked before....do a search
License & reg in your helmet
License & reg in a plastic baggies taped into the inner battery side cover

All other options cost $$.

Since this is for a Sportster...many just keep this stuff in their purse (joking).

I do remember when I had the Super Glide I used velcro to attach a plastic bag under the seat. Might just go that route.....if I can teach her how to take seat off and put it back on.

Someone mentioned the license plate thing, but I saw this and it's lockable.

I carry mine in a stash tube that I made. I keep the paper work rolled up in a zip lock bag and then stick it in the tube. It is just a 1" pipe with a piece of sheet metal welded on the back side as a cap and then a steel cplg welded to the other. Then took a plug drilled a hole through the plug and put a small piece of round rod so I can get it tight enough to stay but I can still break it loose with just my hand. it is held on with a piece of flat bar wrapped around the tube and it uses one of the bolts that hold the primary to the frame. I put anti seize on the threads once a year I have never once had an issue with it. it sits in an odd place and if you are not looking for it most of the time you dont see it. I run a solo bag and when the bag is on it you can't see it at all. Quick simple and easy. and no tools required to get out paperwork if needed.

from under the bike.

looking down at the tube.

That license plate stash box would be nice if they made a curved version.

Fork bag, the Harley glovebox, on the Sportster, I also like the swingarm bag on the left side.

I use a self adhesive shipping label pouch on the inside of the battery cover.
In that, a sealed zip-lock baggie holds the papers.
Yes water will get in there, as I found out the first season, so plan for it.
