I am a greeny to Harley's so don't laugh but I just want to be careful to protect my bike. I have the pipes off and am waiting for parts. Is it ok to start it without any exhaust just to move it?

this is just me, going off experience. I've had the the flange nuts come off a few times while I was out. Pipes left the heads and i recieved a bubbly pop pop pop sound. Bike keptnon plugging away to get me me home. I haven't done it on purpose. I dont expect it to be an issue.

depending on how far you are moving it, may be better to put it in neutral and crab walk the bike.

Yeah I am just moving it about 20-30 feet but I gotta go through some mud to get to a heated shed. Was hoping it would be warmer this week. I think I will play it safe. Thanks for the reply.

You can do it, but it will be LOUD AS F***. The only thing to watch out for would be unburned gas getting out causing a fire hazard and melting anything around the ports that normally is controlled via the pipes.

Lol. Yeah I figured it would be loud as hell. I think I will just have to muscle it up. I got a sweet bike for very cheap so I am not going to take a chance on doing anything stupid. I know my girlfriend is waiting for it lol.
