Does anyone sell a magnet repair kit for the Sportster models 1984-90? These are the ones that have the rotor and magnet assembly as part of the clutch basket ?

 

I believe it's V Twin (maybe Drag Specialties) that makes a rotor with the magnets sealed in it. Prevents the failures that were common on those models chucking magnets.

 

I have probably not told my story correctly. It is one of my biggest faults. The rotor can not be separated from the rest of the basket. I have to replace the magnets that are in the rotor. I wish that I could buy a replacement rotor. That is, of course, that I am unaware of how to separate the rotor. I see no way and it was written somewhere that these could not be separated and it was a terrible design.

 

I also wonder if I could somehow use magnets from a more common rotor if I was able to remove them?????
