Thanx (as usual)! But I need an education here: what is 10mm?

I understand the "12 point" part. And I have a whole set of them but none of mine will fit. :-(

10mm is metric. slightly above 3/8 in SAE. a 12 point 10mm socket will do you good. the bikes have a random hodge podge of metric and sae goodies. kind of annoying. might want to slide the axle back through before you start attacking them

Thanx, understood now.

At first I didn't understand but I figured that the Harbor Freight gal would know if I asked for a 10mm 12 point. So I grabbed my 20% coupon and went to get a set.

I'm surprised no one has asked this, is there a reason you are removing the front brake caliper?

If you are changing brake pads you do not touch those bolts to get the pads out.

There could be several reasons he wants to remove the caliper...one being replace those nasty looking bolts...lol nah. Perhaps overhaul his caliper, do fork work like replace fork seals, replace his tire, etc.

I'm just wondering if he wants to replace the pads. I've seen so many people remove the entire caliper when there is just the pin that needs to be removed.

Just trying to see if I could save him some time if so.

Thanx Blue Scoot. I put a bigger rotor on and so, I need to relocate the caliper further up the fork leg:
And yes, I can already hear cvaria's howl of disgust all the way from here

That's ok, I am one of those who favor function over form.
