Been awhile since I've looked at this post. Sorry for the delay. I cut my brake rod and welded in an extension piece made from 3/8" steel bar stock and the shifter rod I extended from a longer piece of 5/16 rod with threaded ends, purchased from McMaster Carr. If you will look at the instruction attachedment at the beginning of this post I have all parts required.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Just wanted to post an update...I went ahead and ordered everything...here's a few changes

The steel tube is now only $17

and the 3/8" rod P/N is invalid now, just search for 3/8" rod and you find it though

Total came out to $43

Nice project and I'm sure it will be rewarding when finished

Thank you for sharing

No, but there is a "broomstick" extended control mod sold on e-bay that suposedly will.

All, I've updated the instructions as I was told the part number for the 3/8" rod was incorrect. I changed it to reflect the good number, or you can find the 3/8" steel rod at Home Depot or Lowes.

I'm a first time rider and Harley Owner. I have a sportster 883 and i wanted to put some forward controls on her. I'm not thje tallest guy in the world, at 5'10-11, but I want to be stretched out more. I already have drag bars and risers on so I'm stretched out up top. I just need the bottom part of my body!

What am I looking at cost wise? Any reccomendations? Brands? Is it easy to make the transition from stock to forward? Any info I'de aprpeciatr! Thanks!
