Im still waiting for Burley to replace the wrong throttle cable they sent, I dont want to mount the tank until that is done. But this is where it sits now.
Pics not uploading again, try this. I installed the tank knee gripper, black spoke covers.
My roots are more motocross and dual-sport/ADV bikes.... and this is badass! Suspension and weight will hender you from really riding off road, but for fire roads and double track this thing will be fun! My military background really likes the OD green paint! Let is know how it handles off road. Those TKC's? Really like it!
I am a U.S. Army vet, thats why it got the OD green treatment. The front portion of the tank is getting a 5 inch white star in a week or so. Not TKC's they are Kenda big block tires.
Got a break in the weather today, even at 34 degrees I had to go for a short ride. Im very pleased with the way it rides. Does not feel as awkward as I thought it would. I can feel the it does not fall into cornors with the knobbie tires, but thats not what I built it to do. Due to snow and mud, I did not hit any dirt roads. Overall Im happy with it so far, but will continue to upgrade items as I can afford.
Don't discount those knobbies for cornering. My old XL600 was suprisingly agile in the corners with knobbies. Of course it was about 200lbs lighter than a sporty.
