Some reason my photos did not show up above. Trying again. Just noticed that it looks like it has no ground clearance by the pics. But it has 8 inchs to the bottom of the skid plate.

Whylee
That is some nice work. What is the seat height now with all that ground clearance?

There was a bike on craigslist a month ago. Was a Yamaha vtwin 800cc and this guy had done a lot to it. Looked to be very capable off road and on but it was like an '87 or so. Been down that road with my '86Honda XL600 and not finding parts. I vowed never again for a bike I wanted to ride all the time.

Now this is another animal. Harley parts everywhere plus ITS A HARLEY!

i would like to know specs like weight, seat height etc when you get them. Well done

Rhino
That literally looks like someone did a nice job of cramming a sportster engine into a dual sport frame. Nothing out there will sound as nice as these dual sportsters.

The seat height is 34 inch's. Not really sure of the weight, but Im sure I removed about 25 pounds, alot of that was removing the mag wheels and lacing up the lite excel aluminum wheels. I started it up tjis morning after remapping for the exhaust. It sounds amazing to me and seems very responsive and crisp.
Its raining out so I cant ride yet. Im sure more mods will follow soon.

Wow thats pretty tall, for me anyway. One reason I ended up walking away from the DS bikes I was originally looking at. Being vertically challenged doesthat for ya. Odd thing, was the Yamaha I mentioned, the guy posted specs with seat height of 30" yet had 7" ground clearance. Would like to have seen that bike in person, but was a couple hundred miles north of me.

Went ahead and installed my exhaust heat shields. Took it for a quick ride before it started raining again, found my boot riding up against the exhaust. It does ride nice, will take me awhile to get used to the new setup.
Overall it felt really good.

Yea I bet. Big change from a street sporty. For me personally, I would have gone with a 2-1 with upswept pipe, but that is a personal thing. I have always liked the 2-1 since HD came out with the roadster.

With my planned saddlebags, I don't think it would look quite the same, sadly.

I went with this exhaust for price. This exhaust does sit higher than the frame. Its the Cobra Speedster 909.
it does have a crossover also. I would have loved a 2 into 1 upswept system, but I was trying to keep it within a budget.
