How long do official hd batteries last?

As mentioned, check your connections.
Be careful using a charger, as opposed to a battery tender....there is a difference. A charger sends a constant charge without regard to what the battery needs so it can overcharge the battery. A battery tender or smart charger trickles charge over several hours and senses what the battery needs and stops charging when full. So be sure to get a battery tender, then you can leave it on your bike...and will charge if you have parasitic drain. And no, parasitic drain does not drain the battery in 10 mins, otherwise every time you stop for more than 10 mins, you will have a dead battery.
Recently, I have seen several new bikes out of the dealership with faulty batteries even after it has been charged so the owners had to replace the battery...and the dealership did not cover it under warranty.

My 2013 limited battery lasted 4 years and was still going strong when i sold the bike, My 2016 limited already has a new battery as of last spring. I always keep it on a tender when it's home. I think some batteries just aren't made right. My mower battery lasted 7 years having never been plugged into a tender, end of last fall I finally got power to my shed, hooked the mower up to a tender then this spring I had a dead battery.

Noco charger seems to have fixed my Harley battery. I ran the desulfate/stratification mode 4 times. After about 5 hours on each repair mode the notification light blinked indicating battery will not hold charge, but I put it back in the bike and 12 hours later the battery still starts the bike with no hesitation. Kinda wish I tried this before filling the new battery with the acid.
