Is riding like a drug?

RE: Is riding like a drug?
Hi, my name is ******, and I have an addiction, I have riden 30k miles in 2 years trying to satisfy that addiction. It only gets worse for me. I do admit that I have days from time to time when I am not drawn to my addiction, but I can't remember the last time that happened. If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand, and if you have the same addiction, no explination is necessary.

RE: Is riding like a drug?
My wife allows me to put the bikes (H-D 883L, Honda 919, Yamaha RD400) in the great room in the winter (and the house ain't too much of a dump, either). She even lets me wrench on them and fire them up every few weeks, so I don't totally seize up; but if not for that, I'd be in lockup, for sure.
It's a bad/good drug. No, wifey ain't for sale.....

I recently read in the motorcycle riders safety foundation book on improving riding skills that motorcycle riding greatly improves your quality of life.. they took into account the friends you make, the sense of freedom, pride that is typically given in owning a motorcycle and ( in not so many words) the fact that you actually have to pay attention to what your doing while riding and not mindlessly operating a car giving a sense of being a step above other drivers.

Not only is it like a drug, but can also be a replacement for drugs. For years I had been on blood pressure meds, and still had elevated BP. After buying my Sporty, I was able to wean off of the meds, and have been totally off the BP drugs for over a year now. My blood pressure is perfect. Withdrawal is nasty though. If I go 2 days without a bike ride, I get mean, start kicking the dog and beating the wife.
Cold weather just means it takes a bit longer to get dressed for a ride. Thankfully, the winter in Mid TN isn't as extreme as it is further north.
