Default Problem with Sissy Bar on 2007 XL1200C

Have just fitted a Short Rail Sissy Bar with rigid sideplates to my 2007 XL2007C with theoriginal stock seat still fitted. However, the inner bolts and the part of the upright are pushing into the seat which will cut into the leather if I do not make some modifications. See attached pic. Anyone else had this problem. Any suggestions? I plan to reverse the bolts and round off the sharp edge on the upright.By the way yes it is fitted as per the instructions and the dealer confirmed it was the correct parts for the bike.

That application sucks. Sorry. Mine are flush so I don't even have nuts on the end. I'd reverse the bottom screw/ bolts.

Mine is the same way. I dont think there is enough pressure to cause tearing though. I'm not worried about it.

Have reversed the bolts and put chrome acorn nuts on the outside with the flush boltheads on the inside - looks better than stock! Still to get around the sharp corners of the uprights impinging on the seat.
