Turn signal indicators and turn signal lights are in reverse
I have recently purchased a used 2012 sportster 883 that had suffered from an accident but I have been rebuilding it for half a year now. The only remaining problem I have is that the turn signal indicators are on whenever the actual turn signal lights are off and the indicators are off when the turn signal lights are on. Quite a weird situation , I know however theres no other problems with the indicator system itself , everything else works. The most annoying part of it is that whenever the turn signals arent blinking both indicators are always on , and I fear when this lovely bucket of bolts finally gets to the point of doing the road legality test here in europe they wont allow it. Thank you in advance to your answers!

Turn signal indicators?
Do you mean the dash lamp repeaters at the handlebars?
Wiring diagram here:- 99949-12_en - 2012 Wiring Diagrams (harley-davidson.com)
You should be able to see that the actual indicators and the dash lamps are all wired in parallel so if one is on they are all on.
Can you rephrase your question or post up a couple of pictures please?
Your bike has 4 indicators. Do the bulbs have 2 filaments? Is it a US import? What is the first part of the VIN number?
Are they the stock bullet lamps or aftermarket LED add-ons or similar?

"The absolutely worst thing for Harley Davidson reliability is their owners." Haha , how true , its likely I have messed something up during my thinkering , it is indeed an US import , the front lights are stock , 3 wired bullet lamps , however for the time being the rear ones are 2 wire LED bulbs, I have wired up load resistors for them. Yes I have meant the dash lights , sorry for the confusion , and yes I have seen the wiring diagram , it really puzzles me how all of this is happening. Here are some pictures :
In this picture its in idle mode , none of the turn signals are activated yet the dash light is continously on
You can see here that when the turn signal is on the dashboard light is turned off and vice versa when the turn signal is off the dash light is on
