I didnt buy it yet.
Here is what I noticed. Very cool, but it was so different.
1) after about 20 minutes I was used to it. Could never ride it like I ride my sporty.
2) Floor Boards were weird... but nice to have...legs were not tired at all. Hand and arms at a position I am not used to.
3) handle bars are not drag bars. They are just different. Those will have to go.
4) The ride was awesome. My sporty is more stiff and lighter. This is heavyier and a softail. So... the ride is smoother.
5) Center of gravity is lower on this bike. I sat in the bike not on it.
6) I got more respect on the road. Which is funny. I got more head nods and peace sign in 15 miles than I did all summer long.
7) The engine is very different. On the sporty I am boom - boom - boom up to fifth gear. On this FB, I was not nearly as quick. I cruises.
8) wife was more comfortable.... she had more room.
9) I dont like the gages on the tank, rather have them on my handle bars like the sporty.
With all that said... I will trade the sporty in if I can get a good deal.

1) Someone I know has an Electra Glide Classic [w/ Tour-Pak, etc.] that he rides just as fast and leaned over as my Sportster. Your FB can, too.
7) On said same EGC, it can shift and acceleratenearly as fast as a Sportster. It's the new 2008 96 engine, and it has almost the same power zones and shift spotsas a Sportster. This being said, if you shift at about 3500 rpms while cruising.
So...it really shouldn't be much different than your Sportster. Only bigger.

It looks about the same size from a distance in the pics. That being said the fat boys are too fat to be comfortable sitting on it for me. Thats just me... I dont like the way they ride either, but I am sure on a trip it would be nicer.
