History of bike

RE: History of bike
The seat and the pipes and the air cleaner are not stock. I have the stock ones in a box in the garage. The blinkers I believe are stock but they came in a box because the state it was registered in didn't require them so my friend took them off.
I bought it from a friend about 5 years ago. When he was going to college in 82 his roommate bought it new. After about 6 months he couldn't make the payments so my friend bought and had it till he got divorced and had to part with some of his toys. We still ride together often and he still whines about how he never should have sold the sporty. He always wants to swap rides for awhile when we are on weekend trips. When I got it from him I paid $2500. I've put about another 2 or 3 hundred into it over the years. Best deal I ever got in my life.

I have a 1982 XLHA that has 2,900 miles, all original, not restored and STOCK. I bought the bike in 1982 with about 100 miles on it and it's been in the family since 1982. Only items that have been changed are the tires, oil and gas lines, spark plugs/plug wires and the battery. In 1982 I did add the Harley oil cooler with the cover for cold weather. The production date is 9-81 which makes this an early production date for the 1982 model year. I also have the original 2 keys, owners manual and a Harley lock that has "MILW., WI." stamped on the lock. Newer locks do not have this stamping. The wheels are cast, air breather cover is black, no battery cover and the 25th anniversary metal emblem on the front fender. The fenders and tank are red. That's the way the bike came from Harley. The bike starts, runs and drives just as it did in 1982......... I'm trying to upload pictures, but they always FAIL. I'll keep trying... Sorry
