Absolutely love the look of the Nightster; would love to have a rigid mount 883R to work up.

Once on my '01 an old guy come up to me in the parking lot and asks "Did you restore it yourself?"

Sportster Roadster (not Custom/Low/Nightster)and Monster 695. Yeah. I like the looks of the Roadster as the "cruiser" image and the 695 as the "cafe racer" image -- my two favorite bikes both appearance, style, etc.

Sportster = *the* classic American motorcycle....to me, anyway. I've caught myself saying to my friends, "It just looks like a bike should." really.

But I could find myself saying that about several bikes, though.

if by category:

(super)sport = Kawasaki ZX-14 or Ducati 1098, both just drip with style

dual-purpose = BMW R1200GS Adventure or Aprilia Caponord

urban/naked = Ducati Monster (any one of 'em) or Bimota DB6 or Kawasaki Versys

touring = Road King (any FL, really)

i love the sportys, it was my first street bike. But it just didnt seem to fit me well,(im 6ft, i know there are bigger guys that ride them) on long rides. After i rode the bike in my sig, i bought it off my dad. Fits me perfect. But i keep looking in the ads for a old sporty project. They are deff my fav bike.

I personally love the classic look. Both cars and bikes if I am honest. If I hadn'tpurchased the Sportster (2007 1200L), I would probably have bought a Triumph Bonneville. The perfect, classic bike look that comes to mind for me are theold WWII army bikes (from any nation)- Steve McQueen in The Great Escape sorta look. Tough, loud, go-anywhere workhorses. I think that the olive green and blackNightster comes close to my perfect look for a bike. I'm sticking with my Cobalt blue 1200L for nowthough ...

In my opinion a sportster with a peanut tank is the bare bones essence of what a motorcycle is all about.....I have always liked the no nonsense look of a sportster, whether its an old ironhead bike, a evolution model etc.....Simplicity kinda makes the bike cool !

The lines and style of the sportster are what immediately come to mind whenever I think about what a motorcycle should look like.
