RE: Low sitting sportys vs high sitting ones
Mine was already lowered when I bought it...I prefer them lowered...have had both...like the looks and the feel of a lowered Sporty...lower center of gravity,, which makes it easier for me to handle........

RE: Low sitting sportys vs high sitting ones
I'm 6'2", with a 34" inseam, so I don't have a problem with any of them....
If it has 2 wheels I'll ride it....
(Although a friend of mine had a DS Suzuki DR650 that is a blast to ride, especially off road, but it does have a 34.5" seat height. After riding my Softail so much it's a real shock to get on the DR650.)

RE: Low sitting sportys vs high sitting ones
The closer to the ground you get your butt, the lower your center of gravity. A lower center of gravity makes for a far more stable bike all around (in my opinion), My '93 XLH is dropped 2" and the thing is very stable. I cruise the gravel roads in around 50-70 MPH without any fear of wobble or side step. I had a Le Pera GEL solo seat on it in the beginning which dropped me another 1-1.5 inches. It felt even nicer at that height butI found the GEL seatdidn't provide enoughcushion for the longer rides. As a result I sacrificed a little "low ride" when I went up to the regal deluxe2 up seat. Its all about preference I suppose. At 5'11" I'm not really tall but I'm not so short either. I prefer the bikes low...
