Oil cooler for 883 XLH
Wondering if any has put an oil cooler on and if it is a good idea or not. Had a hot VW some years back and the oil cooler on it helped and was actually recommended. I have seem a lot of kits out there and they don't detract from the looks of the bike, just wondering if they are a good idea.

I have one on my 883R, it's a really good idea to have if you ride in traffic, or slow-speeds around town...
Here's mine:

Switching to synthetic oil will reduce temps 10° to 20°.

The same could be said about a Hammer 1250 kit then. Its ONLY an 883 afterall.
What might be a beginner bike or entry level bike to some, might be the ultimate bike for others. I read of guys putting thousands of $$$ into their bikes for performance, and for me its a waste of money. Its hard to justify this to me, but not for others.
Having said that, they probably feel the same about the time and money I spend making mine more of a touring bike.

As for whether our bikes need an oil cooler or not, every new vehicle on the planet is exhaustively tested in the coldest and hottest regions, long before they go into production, also there are few if any of us riders who ever ride in those two extremes. So IMHO the bike don't need no cooler! However we riders are a delicate bunch of wimps and some like to mother their bikes as if they are delicate flowers - which is why there is a market....
Get one if you must, but otherwise just go faster to cool down!!!!
