To address the filters I am using question. They are HD synthetic 5micron filters.

HD 11-63731-99A 'upgrade' synthetic media 5 micron filter, Evolution models (except '08-'13 XR) and

Oil Filter P/N 63796-77A, 63805-80A, 63812-90 or 63813-90.

HD 62700296 'long' version of the synthetic 5 micron filter above, recommended for new

it was not a question it was a statement as for the5 micron the filter i use is also 5 micron and does cross to the xl1200c and in fact what hd recommends for phx summertime heat.

If you want to run an oil cooler, do it. If you don't think folks should, then don't. Personal choice... Simple as that

Ease up there Ken, my comment reflex my belief that Harleys are not the best value in the motorcycle market. In spite of Harley's being over priced and under engineered lots of us still buy them. It was never a personal slam on anyone.

I saw a 30*F drop in oil temps, 250*F down to around 220*F after installing a Jaggs oil cooler, so IMO yes they are worth it.

YMMV

Which Jag’s oil cooler did you instal ? I am researching an oil cooler for a 2013 XL883 Superlow with a 1200 conversion.

If you look closely, you can see the oil cooler that I made for my 72 Sporty. It's off of a truck power steering fluid cooler. It did make a difference, especially when I had the supercharger on the bike. I made a stone guard out of a piece of metal screening material. It was still on the bike when I sold it two years later.
