Not strapping a Sporty, regardless of the brand of lift,is asking for trouble in my opinion. They are easy to tip over sideways. Sure, I can put my Sporty on a lift and take a pic, but I really wouldn't want to work on it without straps. The Road King is another matter. It's not coming off short of getting hit by a car.
At any rate, my 99 dollarlift from Northern Tools has worked well for years. I use it at least once aweek, so it'sdurability can't be questioned. No need for anything any fancier, here. The J&S looks like a nice lift, but I ain't seeing 200+ bucks worth of difference.

One of the few things I ever learned watching "American Chopper" was what can happen when you don't strap your bike. I have a craftsman jack and a Harbor Freight lift and both get straps when the bike is on it. One minute job provides insurance against cranking too hardon parts and accidental bumps.
