RE: Mustang says this is normal?
No, not normal. That is absolutely butchered looking. And if this is the type of support they give, they will lose my business, and maybe more. These types of posts make their way around the internet pretty quickly. You should send a link to this post, so they can see that we all know that they are bs'n you and that it's there image that is at stake here.

I would follow Freakin's suggestion-
1. send your Mustang rep a link to this address
2. remind him this is a group of 60,000 HD owners
3. remind him on any given day, hunreds are contemplating buying a Mustang seat
If he does not immediately agree to replace/adjust the seat, ask for his supervisor or let him know you will document the defect and have your credit card company remove the charge. (you did pay with a dredit card didn't you?) Done Deal

I had a Mustang seat on an '05 1200 Custom, fits fine, no wrinkles. That looks to be about 1/2 " too long.

I'm sure that this is actually pretty rare.
I had a Mustang vintage solo and it was an excellent seat, very high quality.
They should replace your seat without even thinking about it.
Start hammering em until they send you a new one!
They're good people, you'll get treated right.
