Default beach bars on a sportster custom?

ok feel free to call me crazy if you might...i dont even mind name calling.

i'm wondering though if anyone has ever seen or installed beach bars on a 1200c? I'm thinking about that for the future of my bike and cant seem to conceptualize it so i'm not sure if it will look super sweet, or really weird.

i love that 50s retro look.

thoughts?

Waaaaayyyy to wide. The Sportster, to me, is a narrow bike that looks best with drag bars or bars not much bigger than stock. Each to his own, measure a set to get an idea.

i understand dorkman's opinion...
however, i put a lightbar and have three lights up front with a lindy bar - talk about a wide look on a thin bike!!
and have to say i really like the look and feel of the bike that way.

here is a pic of the bike:

i agree that the beach bars alone might look a bit outta place, but i think that if you do some more widening it would work.

I would consider it myself after seeing one. I know there is a place in Cal that does custom work on Harley bikes and installs 21 inch wheels on the front of baggers. Actually looks good.

nothing personally against it. but he might have a point and the bars might look too wide. perhaps you could have them made to have them not so wide. but i think with some saddle bags vintage style seat maybe a retro front render could look pretty sweet.

a wide bike deserves wide bars, it fits well. but the sportster is a SPORTster if the name didnt smack you in the face... its not a regular cruiser and the C model shouldnt exist,

BUT if you want to to wide beach bars, i suggest a wide double sided tank with center console speedo and ignition switch, big full faired front fender like the road king, and 3 headlights (main, two passing lamps) and a big low rear fender, and forward floorboards, and a wide solo spring seat.

that stuff on a sportster could pull off the look with beach bars, but a stock sportster with beach bars is just weird.

or you could raise the rear end, take off any bags and windsheilds, put mid controls and drag bars and race the thing like it was meant to hahaha

only kidding, do what you want, but thats just my opinion
