I don't have a windshield but I do have the full face helmet to keep the bugs from hitting my face and drying out my contact lenses. I don't think I'll ever get a windshield because this is not a daily driver for me. I've been on the interstate at 80 mph and I get whipped around a lot but I enjoy the more scenic back roads and 2-lane highways with less traffic.
Personally, I like the look of that little itty bitty windshield someone posted on the first page but I can't imagine it blocks much wind. Who knows... |
I have the HD low profile, quick release windshield on my Nightster. Wearing conteacts, and a shorty helmet 90% of the time, it's almost a necessity at highway speeds for me. I prefer that to a full face helmet.

I've got the low profile QD windscreen. Love it. Pops on/off in about 10 seconds, ya still get the "wind in your face" feel, but it keeps the blast off your body. As for looks? I couldn't care less really. I don't ride to look cool, I ride 'cuz I love it. This is my daily driver... ;) Here's an old pre-TS relocation pic...

Don't do it. Putting a windshield on a Nightster is like putting a saddle on a hog. It just ain't right!!!!!!!!

Don't have any pics at the moment, but I have the Memphis Shades Del Rey. It's got a quick detach that comes off in seconds. I also just ordered a MS Rio Grande which is a bit bigger. The Del Rey does good for keeping the wind off the chest, but really doesn't do anything for the head, which is why i ordered the Rio Grande. Like most, i only use the shield when i'm going on a trip with mostly highway driving. Most of the time i have all the hardware completely removed. It only takes 5 min to attach all the hardware, so not a big deal to go back to the clean look. The new shield is coming monday, i'll try to get a few pics of both shields.
