Don't care how it rides, just because of the headlight I will skip the Z1000..

Some like the looks for the Z1K and others don't. All I have to say is I would put my 08 Z1K up to a XR1200 any day and smoke it all day long.

I love HD's, but the XR1200 is just out of place IMO. It's not a Sporty and it's not a sport bike. I mean it's differant for sure and not bad looking, but for that kind of money you can get any 1000 Sport bike out there and have a much better bike. I wanted a HD bike so that is why I got my Sporty and I still have my Z1K IMO the tow don't mix. It's all in what you like to ride I guess.

At my age (58) and being a recovering rice rocket junkie, my XR pushes my buttons just right! So far, I haven't seen another XR on Oahu,HI.

If you're looking at it purely from the economic standpoint, the Kawasaki is obviously the better buy; more performance, less dollars. You're clearlly getting more bang for the buck for your dollar. However, the XR in my opinion is just a cooler looking bike, with unique styling compated to the kawasaki.

Well I love Sportsters like no other bike but I bought my 1st real sportbike. It's a clean Kawasaki ZX6 for $2k. I like having an extra bike around and it will fill my Sportbike curiousity. I bought it from an American so he gets to eat Anyway you couldn't touch a running Harley for that, let alone a bike with that kind of performance. The thing with the Ninja is I could sell or replace easily,my mind would never be right if someone stole my Sportster & the next 1 would never be the same.
