Running Metzler tires I average 16,000 miles on the rear tire. Got 28,000 miles out of the first front Metzler. That's with a 19 inch wheel.

As was stated, asphalt temps will play a large factor in the tire life. A lot of my miles are during times with very little, if any, asphalt heat. I'm sure that's a large contributor to my increased tire life.

One of the places I have ordered tires:

www.motorcycleproshop.com

Just check around, it depends on any promotional discounts that might be offered, such as free shipping, when you are in the market for tires.

Small 21" front tires (Custom model) seem to last only 10K miles.
Otherwise consensus seems to be 10K rear, 20K front with the Dunlops that come on the bike. I have a Michelin Commander on the rear now; we'll see how that does (I got a deal on it, so thought I would try it. Nothing wrong with the Dunlops).

On front I get 15000 to 20000 ... rear I get 8000 to 10000 ... I get this one either bike, a '99 XL883 or a '96 FLHTCI ... I have been buying my tires from Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse ... www.mawonline.com ... they have good prices and quality tires

I've got about 6K on my 200mm rear OEM Dunlop and I'm about to the wear indicators. No extreme riding or road conditions. I'd appreciate any suggestions for a good tire that will last longer.

Oops, I got in here through a subject search and didn't notice it was a Sportster forum.. Sorry for that last post, I don't suppose too many sporties are using this size tire. I'll have another beer and start over...

I'm at 10,300 miles on the Scorcher 11 rear tire on my SuperLow. Probably could get another 1,000 or 2,000 miles out of it but I've decided to go ahead and replace it before warm weather gets here.

I typically get 5000-6000 out of a rear, and about double that out of a front. Mine's a 4-speed Ironhead, though, so the power delivery may be a bit different.
