I Wish I Could Afford Two Bikes
After two years and over 18,000 miles I'm going to have to sell my Sportster. I just sealed a deal on a Heritage. The wife made me do it, no kidding. I'm going to miss the Sporty, but I can see myself having another one in the future when I'll hopefully be able to have a second bike. I'd provide details as to why I'm switching, but I've already provided more information than most people care about anyway. I'm off to the Softail forum...

Congrats and good luck. The wife made you do it sounds like a good excuse to me.My wife told me she was pregnant when I was going to buy an Ultra Classic.17 years later and two more kids I am on another Sporty. At least I still have a bike and so does she. Both are sporties, she would not ride my old Suzuki.Said she would not ride that old Jap bike behind a new Harley. Can't really blame her for that.I hope you have many safe miles.

I guess it's time to move on. My wife really can't take the Sportster's ride when going two-up, and to tell the truth after three seasons touring with it I'm beginning to feel it, too. Saturday morning rides and the like are fine and big fun, but after a full day in the saddle I'm feeling it. I'm not getting any younger and it hurts a bit more each year. I rode a Heritage for two full days last year and thought I was in heaven with the ride, compared to my bike. I recently test rode a Road King. A magnificent machine for sure, but just not for me. Took out another Heritage last week and I was immediately sold on it. Planning to pick it up next week.
