2006 883 Low - Owner Needs Manual
Ok, I am a proud owner of a used 2006 883 Low and LOVE it! In three days I have already put 200 miles on it. The only problem is, I want to properly take care of it and it did not come from the HD dealer with a manual. When I search online w/HD I have to pay for owners/service etc.....
In the age of online information, I and my wife are struggling to accept that we have to pay to learn how to take care of this bike. I work on computer systems that publish ample information for all to contribute and take carc of and am convinced that the HD community has the same support. Considering the willful support and size of the Harley Davidson Community, I have to believe that there exists a resource where I can learn to take care of this bike as much as I love it w/out shelling out for a useless paperback version of at least the owners manual and hopefully the service manual (am I dating myself?).
Any positive feedback would be appreciated.
LOL, I am trying!

I recently bought a '95 XLH1200 and the next day spent a few bucks at the dealer for a owner's manual, service manual, and parts catalog. If you're going to spend a few thousand dollars on a bike and intend to maintain it yourself, why not spend a bit more so you can do it correctly? You will save enough doing your first service to pay for the books that will last the life of the bike.

Points Taken - spending the $$ for the books
@bradNailer & Jim,
Points well made. I am going to order the Clymer manual and owners manual asap.
I had become so used to getting my information from community based forums for software development, that the idea of buying a hardback with such a large user base seemed silly. However, your points were received accordingly.
-thanks for the tips

Definitely Prefer the HD Service Manual the Clymer is okay in a pinch but the HD is Far worth the little extra is costs can probably find one New and Sealed from a Dealer on Ebay for around 50-60 Bucks Money Well Spent .. I found a Brand New One for my 2001Sporty from Zanottis for 52.00 including shipping on Ebay ... If Don't Like Ebay try getting one direct..
