OK, after searching around I realized that a lot of the info on seat fitment is a bit scattered so I wanted to make sure I am clear on some of the details - and hopefully this can be used by others with similar questions.

Check out what I have below and let me know if I made any mistakes or need to add anything.

• 2004-2006 seats will fit 2007-2009 and up, but some of them may be too tight due to the ECM - need extra room under the seat.
• 2004-2006 should fit a 2010 because there is no ECM under the seat.
• A seat from a 4.5 tank will fit a seat with a 3.3 tank but there will be a gap between the seat and the tank.
• A seat from a 3.3 will not fit a 4.5 tank because the 3.3 seat is too long.

 

That's been the info I've gathered and follow, but I'd check with your local HD parts guy to make sure. If you're buying a new seat from anyone they'll have a fitment list. My dealership will let me try the seat on my bike, if they have it in stock just to see how well it does fit, the bike and my butt. I like my Mustang solo the best so far, although the Le Pera's are really nice too.

 

Pretty well sums up my experience, although my Corbin seat was from a 3.3 gal tank & fits my '05 1200C fine after some surgery (removed about an inch from the front) - mounting brackets fit fine.
