I installed Rush Slipons 1.75baffles on 09 883 w/400miles .Manufacterer said I did not have to do anything else just install . Bike now runs rough . What do I check now ?

 

Can you explain in a little more details on running rough??? I installed rush slipons with 2" baffles and the only issue i had was a little popping on decel. other than that my bike ran fine. your bike could be running really lean. what does the plugs look like? You might have to add a fuel management system as well. Are you still running the stock Aircleaner? try and give use more details so we can help you with your issue.

 

I installed rush with the 1.50 and I have had no proplems with them at all..ecept the poping at decel

 

O2 sensors ?

 

I am not getting any popping , just a litte sluggish on accelleration and a rough idle . Still have stock air set-up . Thanks

 

I dont think the SO's are causing this problem

 

I used the Rush 2.5 on my 08 883c, they give got a little popping on decel, the big thing is to replace the small crush gaskets on the crossover pipes, I didnt do mine the first time round and got to much popping.

didnt need the PCIII until i did the air filter

 

your feeling sluggish when you give it throttle off idle? does it run better in higher rpms? this is called "lost backpressure". You lost torque by installing the more open pipes. And your rough idle is because now the air/fuel mixture is now a little leaner. To tune you need to get some type of aftermarket fuel controller like a PC5 or fuelpak or supertuner. And if its popping on decel its because its running lean. your can run it like this if you want but you could have problems later down the road with running to lean for extended periods of time...

 

I have a Nightster with Rush Slip Ons, 2" baffles.

I tried the XIED's to help the bike run more rich, and it did help. But ended up having the computer re-mapped specifically for my set up. No worries now! She runs great, sounds mean, and I'm getting 51 mpg!

 

I have a '03 sportster 1200 i just got a couple of months ago. I got the Rush Slip Ons and i put a K & N high flow tear drop air filter on it, since my buddy had it laying around from his 2003. I had to have it re-mapped also because i was getting the popping on decel and it would pop sometimes when i was at lower rpm's or starting off from a stop. Took it to my buddies shop and he put it on the dyno and did the work. Runs like a champ now.
